Browser and device compatibility
Last updated: February 10, 2026
Videosync events run directly in the browser — no downloads, plugins, or paid software required. All you need is a supported browser and a device with speakers or headphones.
You can verify that your setup works by visiting our 24/7 compatibility test page. Your device is compatible if the video plays and the test image loads correctly.
Supported browsers
We recommend using the latest version of any of the following browsers:
| Browser | Supported | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome | Yes | In Incognito mode, make sure “Block third-party cookies” is turned off |
| Edge | Yes | |
| Safari | Yes | Uncheck “Prevent cross-site tracking” in Safari privacy preferences |
| Firefox | Yes | |
| Opera | Yes | |
| Internet Explorer | No | Not supported |
Always keep your browser up to date. Older browser versions may cause playback issues or prevent the event page from loading correctly.
Supported devices
Videosync works across desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones.
| Device type | Platforms |
|---|---|
| Desktop / Laptop | Windows, macOS, Linux |
| Tablet | iPad (iOS), Android tablets, Windows tablets |
| Mobile | iPhone (iOS), Android phones |
For the best experience on any device, use the latest version of one of the supported browsers listed above.
Cookie and JavaScript settings
Videosync uses cookies to store session and registration data, and requires JavaScript to run the event interface. Before joining an event, make sure that both are enabled in your browser settings.
If you switch to a different browser or device after registering, you may be asked to register again — this is expected, as cookies are stored per browser.
